COLOMBO – SIGIRIYA

Landing at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport at 06:10 local time in the early hours of the new day. After our passport and luggage procedures and being greeted at the airport, we set off towards Pinnawela. Upon arrival in the region, we start the day with breakfast at Pinnalanda Restaurant. After our breakfast, we visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, which began its activities in 1975 with seven orphan elephants. Today, the facility, which has turned into a deep-rooted center where the grandchildren of those first orphans are witnessed to be born under the same roof, was established with a tourism focus in its early years, but quickly became one of the most important conservation and education centers in the region. Thanks to the scientific conservation and breeding program carried out with the contributions of local and foreign elephant experts, the natural and free movement of the herd has been supported; and with the possibilities offered by the river, the first baby elephant of Pinnawela was born in 1984. Many books and research articles have been written in many languages on this success story that attracted the attention of scientists from all over the world; the residents of the orphanage have been the subject of documentaries and photographs thousands of times by professionals. After our visit, we carry out our transfer to the Sigiriya region. Free time after check-in to our hotel and settling into rooms. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

SIGIRIYA

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off to climb the historic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, which was built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa (AD 477-495) and is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. This magnificent fortress, called "Lion Rock" and extending 200 meters high in the middle of scrub forests, is located in the most protected heart of the ancient city surrounded by 70 hectares of walls. The rock is surrounded by wide landscape areas including water moats, walls, and world-famous water gardens. During our visit, we will visit the world-famous "Heavenly Maidens" frescoes located in a protected part of the rock and reached by spiral stairs. After examining these unique wall paintings depicted with earth paints on plaster, we return to our hotel to rest and enjoy our breakfast. In the late afternoon, we set off towards the Dambulla region (approximately 30 minutes) and visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, which was built in the 1st century BC by King Walagambahu and is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Considered the most impressive cave temple of Sri Lanka, this complex hosts the world's largest collection of temple paintings with more than 2,000 square meters of painted wall and ceiling area. In the structure consisting of five separate caves containing more than 150 statues and depictions of Buddha, the massive 14-meter long reclining Buddha statue carved from a single rock stands out. After the completion of our visit, return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

SIGIRIYA - KANDY

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off towards the Kandy region (approximately 3 hours). On the way, we visit the Matale spice gardens located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka, which host the island's iconic products such as tea, rubber, vegetables, and spices. Matale, which was the center of the historic uprising in 1848, stands out today with its deep-rooted spice culture. Here, we will take a break to get to know the healing world of spices and their cultivation and processing processes closely; and enjoy the refreshing herbal tea offered. Guests who wish to do so can take a short walk in the town streets full of the sounds and colors of local life. After our visit, we continue our journey towards Kandy. Following our arrival, we start our Kandy city tour. This historic city, which was ruled by King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe before coming under British rule in 1815 and was the last royal capital of the kings of Sri Lanka, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. During our tour, we will witness Kandy's deep-rooted cultural and historical heritage by visiting the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where the holy tooth relic of Lord Buddha is kept, which is the most important symbol and crown jewel of the city. After the completion of our visit, transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

KANDY - NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off towards the Nuwara Eliya region (approximately 3 hours). On the way, we visit a fascinating tea plantation to get to know Sri Lanka's world-famous tea culture closely. In this region, where some of the world's highest quality teas are grown thanks to its high altitude and cool climate, we will have the opportunity to learn in detail all the processes from the picking to the processing of tea leaves.
After our visit, we arrive in Nuwara Eliya and start our city tour. The city, which is considered Sri Lanka's most popular mountain resort due to its refreshing mountain climate, fascinating landscapes, and colonial architecture, is also the heart of the country's tea production. Mount Pidurutalagala (2,524 meters), the highest peak of Sri Lanka, and one of South Asia's most exclusive 18-hole golf courses are located here. As part of our tour, we will also visit Lake Gregory, one of the symbols of the city, and take a pleasant walk around the lake. After our visits, transfer to our hotel and settling into rooms. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

NUWARA ELIYA - BANDARAWELA - COLOMBO

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off towards the capital Colombo via Bandarawela. In this part of our trip, to witness Sri Lanka's famous landscapes, we first make a short transfer to Nanu Oya train station (approximately 20 minutes). We board our train departing at 09:00 and begin a fascinating journey towards Bandarawela. You can enjoy this picturesque train journey, winding through tea fields and the foothills of lush green mountains, in your seats reserved specially for you. While you enjoy these unique nature views, our tour vehicle will proceed by road to meet us at the Bandarawela train station. After our arrival at the Bandarawela train station, we continue our journey towards Colombo with the vehicle waiting for us (approximately 5.5 hours). Following our arrival, transfer to our hotel and free time after settling into rooms. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

COLOMBO - NEGOMBO

After breakfast at our hotel, we start our Colombo city tour. In Colombo, whose face is changing rapidly like many developing capitals, modern skyscrapers now rise where old buildings once stood. Despite this, the fascinating texture of the old world is still preserved in some parts of the city. During our tour, we will see the 100-year-old historic clock tower and colonial architecture buildings from the British period, as well as the Pettah Market offering attractive shopping opportunities, Hindu and Buddhist temples, the decent residential areas hosting the magnificent mansions of the city's wealthy class, and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) gifted to Sri Lanka by the People's Republic of China. Then, we visit the Gangaramaya Temple, which stands out with its architecture, and the Colombo National Museum, which sheds light on the country's deep-rooted past. After the completion of our visit, we move towards the Negombo region (approximately 1 hour). In the Negombo city tour we will carry out upon arrival, we will see historic buildings from the Dutch and Portuguese colonial periods, catamarans decorating the coast, the historic Dutch Fort, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. After observing the lagoon famous for its lobsters, crabs, and shrimp and the live fish auctions set up on the beach panoramically, transfer to our hotel and settling into rooms. Free time for the rest of the day to relax and benefit from the hotel facilities. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.

NEGOMBO - COLOMBO - ISTANBUL

Leaving our hotel at midnight, we transfer to CMB Bandaranaike International Airport with our breakfast boxes from the hotel.
